Sundays 15h00 - 18h00 + pot luck dinner

"What is Kundalini? Lifting the veil of mystery"

January 30th, 2011
March 6th
(This program is not a progressive series; you can come to any single afternoon.)

at La Source, Walferdange (map below)

For a number of years, Centre de Yoga - La Source has offered hatha yoga classes in various styles from different traditions. Additionally, it has been offering events and trainings going beyond the practice of postures.

These programs, presenting other aspects of yoga, have been very well received and we are happy to start a series of monthly workshops centered around the process of awakening the kundalini power leading one to the experience of deep meditation.

Deep meditation is easier than most yoga practitioners think. These Sunday workshops will provide the perfect complement to your practice of asanas (yoga postures). There should be a ratio of theory/practice of around 40% / 60%. Practices will vary from one workshop to the next but will generally include: silent meditation, mantra repetition and/or chanting, hatha yoga pranayama, kriya yoga pranayama, deep relaxation, mudras and bandhas, etc. There will be no asana practice.

The theory and philosophy teachings will aim to be as practical and pragmatic as possible focusing on explanations which will directly help you meditate deeper and awaken the spiritual power we call kundalini.

Following the workshop will be a vegetarian pot luck dinner.

Enrollment: Please e-mail us at info @ yoga.lu, letting us know if you also wish to participate or not in the potluck dinner after the workshop. If yes, please indicate what vegetarian dish you could bring (no garlic or onions should be used). During the dinner, students and teachers will get a chance to socialize and talk about the teachings and life in general in a more casual setting.

Price: Cost for the workshop is 30 Euros payable to:

Swami Atma

Originally from France, Swami Atma discovered yoga in the tradition of Swami Sivananda Saraswati of Rishikesh with Andre Van Lysebeth in the early 80s.

In 1987, Swami Atma took the International Sivananda Yoga Teachers Training Course (TTC) in Kerala, India.  That year, he met his guru, Swami Vishnu-devananda, founder of the International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centers (ISYVC).  After the TTC, he joined the ISYVC and received sannyas initiation from Swami Vishnu-devananda in December 1991.  During his 13 years in the ISYVC, Swami Atma directed the Chicago and Los Angeles branches and also led various teachings on hatha yoga, the Bhagavad Gita, and satsangs during Teachers' Training Courses in California, Upstate New York, Bahamas, Canada and India.

In December 2000, he left the Sivananda Organization and founded the Advaita Yoga Ashrama (AYA).
